SeeKing HR, a comprehensive human resource consulting firm providing strategic guidance, program management, employee development and employment services to a variety of clients is sourcing candidates for an Operations and Compliance Technician position for a manufacturing organization in San Antonio, Texas

Qualified candidates will have:

•  Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with minor in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.
•  3+ years' of experience in an operations/manufacturing supervising position (ideally in laboratory/biotechnology sector).
•  Basic knowledge of product quality control, quality systems and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, LEAN).
•  Other skills:

  •  Flexibility and adaptability.
  •  Bilingual (Spanish - English) required.

Typical duties include:

•  Completing onboarding and training process with current lab manager, Chief R&D Officer and VP of Operations regarding laboratory and manufacturing operations, intellectual property and industrial secret protection and any other required training such as OSHA.
•  Supporting daily manufacturing (non-lab) activities: cleaning, starting, pumping-out of fermenters into drums, final "soup-up" process, cleaning drums inside and out prior to use, keeping track and reporting on inventory, warehousing and logistics (e.g. filling and packaging orders, shipping scheduling and purchase order documentation and follow-up).
•  Documenting, evaluating and improving current manufacturing and logistics processes to ensure product quality and reduce process variability based on current and relevant process improvement methodologies and management techniques.
•  Establishing quality control manuals and metrics, such as on-time in-full delivery (OTIF), customer satisfaction and product handling manuals to ensure product quality along the value chain.
•  Supporting technology transfer to Mexican operations to ensure lab and manufacturing facilities installation and local production start-up in 2017.
•  Supporting any laboratory or manufacturing facilities upgrade or improvement through research of potential products & services suppliers, equipment, good manufacturing practices and laboratory best practices.
•  Ensuring full-compliance with national, local or regional laws, regulations and norms, including State product registration and certifications (e.g. OMRI), keeping track of renewal dates, completing registration forms, gathering external information (e.g. peer reviewed articles), integrating dossiers and submitting them to the corresponding authorities.
•  Implementing measures defined in intellectual property protection guidelines to protect and preserve our industrial secrets and confidential information.
•  Actively participate in internal meetings such as “sales and operations planning (S&OP)”, internal strategy communication and business updates, new hire introductions, and any other meetings required for all employees.
