SeeKing HR, a comprehensive human resource consulting firm providing strategic guidance, program management, employee development and employment services to a variety of clients, is sourcing candidates for a Career Advisor for a non-profit organization that is a critical economic development resource to the San Antonio community.

The Career Advisor is responsible for case management of participants from enrollment, training, and transitioning to job search and job placement.

Qualified candidates will have:

•  Bachelor’s degree
•  3+ years’ experience in case management
•  Knowledge of employment and training programs, federal, state and local regulations as well as social services available in the area
•  Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite
•  High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
•  Able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
•  Knowledge in non-profit environment preferred

Typical duties include:

•  Assess applicants needs and abilities to determine eligibility and suitability for enrollment, training, and job placement.
•  Conduct one-on-one interviews with applicants for the purpose of preparing the Individual Service Strategy.
•  Present the completed Individual Service Strategy in the final interview for participant enrollment and forward recommendations to the Program Manager for approval.
•  Enroll the participant in the authorized training in coordination with the enrollment process arranged by the Program Manager.
•  Develop a strong understanding of the demand occupations funded by the organization to include educational and training requirements, future career opportunities, and funding requirements.
•  Establish an individualized financial assistance plan in compliance with support service procedures and submit the plan to the Program Manager for approval.
•  Schedule and facilitate weekly group counseling meetings.
•  Develop strong relationships with chairs, department heads and faculty with training providers.
•  Provide participants with timesheets and progress reports in an effort to track participants progress and provide necessary interventions to ensure the successful completion of training.
•  Enter data in database to schedule applicants for counseling sessions and monitor applicant flow through the assessment and selection process.
•  Maintain weekly contact with participants to ensure transition to long term employment.
•  Perform other duties as needed.
