THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 1 YEAR.

Position Summary:

The Strategic Buyer (Contract) provides dynamic management of suppliers on the different Airbus Helicopter platforms in order to decrease total cost of acquisition of materials, reduce time to market (Lead time), encourage innovation and improve product/service  in terms of quality, reliability, weight, and maintainability.  The Strategic Buyer (Contract) is responsible for procurement action plan: supplier sourcing, supplier management and development, supply chain management, local sourcing, obsolescence, export control, contract management, development follow-up and procurement data update.   

This assignment is expected to be approximately 1 year in duration.             

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess the market (competitors, prices & technologies) for parts and equipment:  25%

  • Conduct price and value analysis
  • Lead and/or participate in multi-functional teams for value creation (savings, sourcing, policies, etc.)
  • Support commodity sourcing policy definition
  • Decides on accepting new suppliers, including building up and supporting suppliers and developing and adapting procedures for assessing suppliers.
  • Local sourcing

 Prepare and negotiate supplier contracts: 35%

  • Negotiates terms and conditions of delivery (quantities, prices, deadlines, logistics) with domestic and foreign suppliers on the basic of defined objectives.
  • Concludes individual contracts and master contracts, also under foreign law, within a defined financial budget.
  • Prepare Request for Information/Request for Proposal

 Monitor and evaluate supplier performance: 15%

  • Manage, monitor and update supplier contracts and amendments
  • Consolidate and report results, issues, concerns to management on a regular basis
  • Communicate with stakeholders in the case of a major failure of the supplier
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customer to ensure understanding of their needs by involving them on the development of a strategic vision for suppliers.

 Work with data management team:  10%

  • Ensure procurement data is accurate in the ERP (SAP) system

 Monitor the supply chain process: 15%

  • Leads Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) in dealing with Import/Export requirements (ITAR) ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure that materials are processed in a timely manner through the supply chain system.
  • Handle international business transfers (e.g. Europe US)

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

Education:

  • Business Degree or equivalent (experience may be substituted for degree)

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of four (4) years directly related experience within a purchasing/procurement environment, Contract management, Sales or equivalent (aeronautical preferred).
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts/equipment and components desirable. SAP experience required MM-Module preferred

  • Competent in SAP applications

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International

Nature of Contacts:

Involved, negotation type communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties

Internally:   AHI ( Managers, Operational buyers,) on a weekly basis, Airbus Helicopter Group ( France, Germany, Canada, Mexico).

Externally:   Supplier, Completion centers, repair centers, on a daily basis

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
